Company

Our client is a well-established energy company with more than 2,000 employees across Western New York and Northwest Pennsylvania. The organization is continuing to invest in its technology environment as part of corporate expansion, cloud transformation, and systems integration initiatives.

The IT organization is expanding its Oracle ecosystem to support the company’s growth and the integration of a recent acquisition. These are new opportunities for professionals who want to contribute to a significant enterprise technology environment while working closely with business and IT teams.

Culture

Our client places a strong emphasis on collaboration, accountability, and developing its employees. Hard work is recognized, and the company has a history of supporting promotion from within.

The hiring manager has been with the organization for more than 25 years, reflecting the stability and long-term career opportunities available within the company. The IT environment is team-oriented, with professionals working closely with functional business teams, data engineers, application architects, vendors, and implementation partners.

Benefits / Appreciation

Our client offers a comprehensive benefits package and a stable environment within an established organization. Employees are recognized as an important part of the company’s continued success, with opportunities to develop their skills and advance within the organization.

The company also places a strong emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and providing qualified employees with opportunities to grow their careers.

Role

The Oracle Developer will support the company’s growing Oracle Fusion/Utilities environment. This is a hands-on enterprise applications role involving development, configuration, integrations, reporting, data activities, troubleshooting, and ongoing application support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, develop, and support Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM and related applications.
  • Work with functional business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain integrations, extensions, reports, and data extracts.
  • Support data conversion, validation, and reconciliation activities.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and application architects to align solutions with enterprise standards.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and help maintain system reliability.
  • Participate in system testing, UAT, and post-implementation stabilization.
  • Document configurations, integrations, and technical designs.
  • Work with outside vendors and implementation partners to support knowledge transfer and long-term application support.

Location: This position is available on-site in Buffalo, NY; Erie, PA; or Dayton, OH.

Candidates in all three locations are being considered. Some relocation assistance is available for non-local candidates.

Required Background:

  • At least 5 years of Oracle Developer experience supporting enterprise application development, systems analysis, or a related discipline. Experience in utilities, energy, financial services, or another regulated industry is preferred
  • Professional experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM, including a mix of Core HR, Payroll, Talent, Benefits, and/or Security, including application configuration, extensions, integrations, or development.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise implementations, acquisitions, and/or major platform transitions highly desired.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Transcripts will be required.
  • Local to one of the listed areas or willing to relocate upon hire.
  • Legally authorized to work in the USA without any form of sponsorship, now and in the future.

This opportunity is best suited for an Oracle/enterprise applications developer who enjoys being hands-on, working across business and IT, and contributing to a growing cloud-based technology environment. The long tenure of the hiring manager and the organization’s focus on internal development may also appeal to professionals looking for a stable, long-term opportunity.
